EYFS
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.”

The Early Years Foundation Stage is a vital stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; and support their development, care and learning needs. Here at Kingsway building positive relationships with parents/carers and children underpin our success in facilitating quality learning environments.
In our setting your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. These areas are grouped into two categories prime and specific areas.
The prime areas are important because they lay the foundations for children’s success in all other areas of learning and of life:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
The specific areas provide the range of experiences and opportunities for children to broaden their knowledge and skills:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
These 7 areas are used to plan your child’s learning as they begin to play and explore, be active and think creatively and critically. Our setting provides these quality experiences through indoor and outdoor provision. The provision is set up to support your child’s unique interests and needs which remain at the heart of planning, observing and assessing your child’s learning and development.
